Katy Mellor is a designer maker who produces knitted accessories. She studied in Manchester, graduating in 2007 with a degree in Textiles, and then went on to Postgraduate Study in Creative Business Development.

She was born in Cumbria, and the beautiful surroundings are a constant source of inspiration. She also likes to look at old fashioned knitting techniques and add her own contemporary twist to them. Katy is inspired within her designs by vintage items, combining notions of comfort with warmth and luxury, but still keeping an essence of the traditional. Artists such as Michael Raedecker and Morandi also inspire her, these themes are conveyed through the yarn choices, patterns and techniques chosen.

She likes to add embellishments to the knitting, creating individual pieces. Products are machine knitted and hand finished using lambs wool and cashmere yarn.
